Mark Taffa – Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Mark Taffa is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Horten Medical, with over two decades of experience in the medical device industry. He is a recognised leader in medical technology, dedicated to advancing patient care through the development and delivery of high-quality, innovative medical devices. Mark has previously served on the board of the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) and remains actively engaged in mentoring emerging professionals within the healthcare sector.

Dany El Hakim – Financial Accountant

Dany El Hakim has been a valued member of Horten Medical since 2012, serving as Financial Accountant and bringing extensive expertise in financial management and analysis. A member of CPA Australia, Dany is responsible for monitoring financial data and preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring the company’s financial integrity.

Throughout his career at Horten Medical, Dany has supported management in budgeting, cost and revenue analysis, financial data monitoring, and risk assessment for potential investments. His meticulous approach and strategic insights contribute to informed decision-making and the company’s ongoing growth.

Deborah Mott – Sales Manager

Deborah brings over 27 years of experience in the healthcare industry, having held senior positions at Diasonics, Co-Efficient, GE, and ResMed. With a strong operational background, she is widely recognised for her ability to lead high-performing teams and drive business growth.

A certified Six Sigma professional, Deborah also completed the Leadership Essentials program through GE. She is the co-founder of ResSleep, which she successfully built and later sold in August 2013. Her depth of industry knowledge and proven leadership make her a valuable asset to Horten Medical and its partners.

John Howard – Territory Manager – QLD

John brings over 40 years of medical industry experience to Horten Medical. His career includes 8 years with the AMA (3 as Regional Manager in Townsville), 20 years with Johnson & Johnson Medical specialising in wound care and operating theatre products, and 5 years with Aaxis Pacific managing wound care in Queensland. For the past 12 years, John has been a valued member of Horten Medical, supporting hospitals and surgeons with trusted surgical solutions.

Richard Hocart – Territory Manager – WA

Richard brings over 45 years of experience in the medical industry to Horten Medical. He began his career with Upjohn Pharmaceuticals, spending 12 years in their Consumer Products division, before dedicating 35 years to Johnson & Johnson Medical, specialising in operating theatre products. For the past six years, Richard has been a valued member of the Horten Medical team, supporting hospitals and surgeons with trusted surgical solutions and a wealth of industry knowledge.
